Title: Tolerant Artist: Noggin Album: As Yet Unknown Date: 2001
I mean I really went crazy with Buzz…I have to admit that the high amount of output when that was my main (only) production tool is part of the reason I started this whole blog.
This is me trying out synths a lot more, well trying to tweak them to what I wanted at least KNOWING a little about what I was tweaking was doing.
Its psy, its acid, its breaks, big beat, whatever you want to call it. Got a bit of mid-career Orbital energy in it (a constant inspiration). Download: tolerantupdate (right click and choose ‘save as’)
This one was all about the drums and breaking out of any sort of genre that might have tried to encapsulate me in 2002. Its heavy on the melody and heavy on the bit of bounce. Its weird and its funky and damn I like it more now than I even did then, I think. Also managed to pull every tracker technique out the book on this one.
dig it.

Title: Where it be at? Artist: Noggin Album: Classic Trash Date: 2001
Cruisin along the edge of the cheese escarpment, I bring to you a pretty Buzz-standard trackerised happy song. Well its not so much ‘happy’ song as it is ‘content song’.
It was originally called ‘newbassfix’ which kind of reminds me that I was experimenting a lot with bass around this time (thanks new sub). Not sure what’s new about it, but there you go.
It’s all buzz. Just being bored in my dorm. Download: noggin-whereitbeat (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Here’s yet another example of vision quest via buzz tunage. Pretty much knew exactly where this one was gonna go when it came out. I remember this coming from really appreciating the sunshine while walking up to jck. Kind of idm-proto-house, longing for an emu sampler.
A classic favorite. Download: sunshine (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Title: shadykill Artist: Noggin Album: As Yet Unknown Date: 2002
Fast paced jungle + some drum n bass originally intended to be set to an acapella of Eminem. That’s one of my favorite tracks off that album. This one is entirely buzz tracker junglism.
Borderline drill-n-bass but not enough rolls, I suppose.

Yo Matt, some of these are more CLASSIC than TRASH, so please don’t take it the wrong the way ;].
Here’s another collaboration we did following in the square-wave melodic stylings of Mr. SOMA’s own work. I think I did the 808s on this one, and the vocals (found deep in the bowls of the internet). Of course I could be totally wrong about that, and honestly I think this was mostly homedude’s track, so all props to him.
Super happy tracker mellow style courtesy your jeskola buzz. Download: the tribes (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Title: Shallow Night (Deep Dive in a Shallow Hole mix) Artist: CNCTR Album: Classic Trash Date: 1998
Early buzz funkery. Fell in love with slap bass on this one.
It’s a remix of a much mellower tune that I’ll be posting up later this week. It’s like, it was so mellow, I had to do this funky version just to keep the yin in the yang, the pb with the jelly, the froyd with the seigfried, you know… Download: shallow night (deep dive in a shallow hole) (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Title: On the Way to COrpus Artist: CNCTR Album: Classic Trash Date: 1998
Been a big week for classic buzz here.
Here’s an early dark track with a simple drum line. Probably would work good as a soundtrack piece. I cobbled this together in the closet on a computer in the time right before we headed to Corpus for a competition. Download: corpus (right click and choose ‘save as’)
One of my earliest Buzz tracks – pretty basic experimentation with melody and the built-in Buzz synths. Some of the most ‘tracker-style’ stuff I ever did (cheesy).
These piano and string samples would find their way into many a production following this early experiment. Download: 2sides (right click and choose ‘save as’)
