The tracks I made with Rikard were always some of my favorites. He had such a fresh perspective on everything that was going on, and he really pulled my own fumbling style up into a more professional level.
This track was one we worked on back and forth, from Texas to Sweden, from Sweden to Texas, back and forth for a good month or so. It was an homage to some robotic fish I got for my room that I was fascinated with. I believe there is some guitar in here too, as I was just starting to experiment with manipulating my acoustic guitar playing in Buzz.

I wanted to slow things down a bit, seems like the last couple days on this thing have been pretty intense.
Here is a very short demo/test I made with Reason, ca. version 1.1. I tried Reason for about a summer, and it pretty much single-handedly inspired me to find a hardware synth, which just further solidified my move away from computer-based production. I’m not hating on Reason, I think it is a very unique piece of software and pretty cool what all it can do. I guess I just thought taking the hardware metaphor THAT FAR in software was a bit backwards, and so I myself ended up being the one taking steps backwards into the world of never having enough patch cables. Go figure.

part b coming in a bit, just trying to make the midnight cutoff with a slow ass internet connection.
There is a glitch in the first show as my recorder filled up, and I had to delete previous shows then continue the recording.
This weeks show includes hits from, but not limited to:
Marty Robbins
Johnny Cash
Johnny Paycheck
Glen Campbell
Alabama
etc, etc…
(ps these things take as long to download as they do to broadcast…+100mb for each hour)

Had a pretty good show this am. Muchas gracias to Chuck for the donuts and coffee. In a beautiful fit of fate, I was able to fill a request with a Marty Robbins track that was new to me, and not on a lot of records.
This weeks show includes hits from, but not limited to:
Yard
Marty Robbins
David Allan Coe
Cornell Campbell
Hot Chip
etc, etc…

Request!
This is from some Pizza Party sessions rocking a 1986 Ensoniq workstation synthesizer. Well, sort of, the original demo was kind of jammy, so I bounced down the constituent parts, edited, and added vocals this afternoon. Here’s hoping you dig.
ps. The mix/master slider on this one was set to -4.

Just had to get the juxtaposition in with two unrelated on the surface tracks, but both coming from the same place. If I remember, a lot of people liked this track.

I was really into industrial before anything else concrete. It gave me the balls to actually get into more electronic stuff, and it was about all I could make on my own when I was first starting out. Indie/lo-fi/Daniel Johnston was only cool to Kurt Cobain when I was doing this stuff, and so the only lo-fi thing I could really get away with was just a ton of distorted keyboards. Either that or I was 14 and really didn’t care what anybody thought and I wanted to make my face bleed with my headphones. Anyway, I moved away from the more industrial, into the more techno, and back and forth for a while. This was the the industrial part of what I thought was a pretty defining suite off my first computer based album. A nod to my dirtier days.

This whole album has to make it up here eventually.
Epic dream house from the days when Robert Miles ruled the radio and the clubs. In my more wiser hindsight, I imagine this track sounds much better screwed. Hmmm maybe I can get two posts out of this…

Naw, yall have been so nice to me I’ll just go ahead and include both…you be the judge.

Short one. I got groceries getting warm I gotta tend to.
This is mostly Buzz, but judging from the title, I imagine I used some VST instruments / fx. Really guessing at the date, this one was a very quick throw together.

Saturday track. Get your party on.
Before I say anything else about this track, let me say THANK YOU!!! to all of you who are following or at least checking this project. The response has been overwhelming, positive, and very surprising! This project is for yall and I’m just happy to know I’m making people get all touchy feely with themselves (ok maybe I just hope that).
This track is in honor of a great inside joke we had today while sorting 1000’s of dusty old moldy ass records up at the radio station. We came in with high-hopes of categorisation, but then realised pretty quickly to throw those out the window as Eric Clapton got sorted into the very fledgling Blues category.
Here’s an Eric Clapton remix done in Buzz. This one was for the sorority girls. Ok and the frat boys. But don’t even hate, yall all will jam it.
