On this here prairie, I’m the Bozz.
Jeskola Buzz squashed sampling serenade, sung by sons of the pioneers.

This one screams summer of 04 to me. Believe it or not, this actually grew out of a scratch session with one of those many dollar-bin Hawaiian records. The scratch/samples are long gone, but as is not uncommon, the song took on a life of its own.

Album: One Man To Freq Them All
Date: 2002

My homey Scott released a superb album once upon a moon ago under his FM Man alias. “One man to freq them all” (I’m proud of coming up with that title) was a pretty great sort of electro / techno / idm opus + glimpse into the early 2000’s Montreal electronic music scence that I’m about to go dig up and jam. I’m pretty sure he produced it mostly in Buzz…my remix definitely came 100% from Buzz, inspired by that sick melody line he worked out. I was getting my feet wet with the glitch aesthetic, and this is something that I was really proud of when it was done.
Yet another fruitful collaboration between Noggin and the unbounded creativity that is ScottyP.

“Wreckage” is a collection of files I found that to me sounded for the most part done, but somehow, ended up stranded on the side of the road, no where to go, and lacking the machinery needed to take them there. I really liked this one for being so damn robotic so, a simple, telling name seemed appropriate.
I tracked this all in Buzz, it’s mainly sample manipulation plus a bass drop synth. This is where a tracker shines.

Whilst working on a film project in college, our group needed some basic bed music, not too loud, not too quiet, to use underneath a PSA we were creating for the food bank. A short time with the midi-keyboard and reason and our problems were solved. I’ll never forget how ‘easy’ I felt it was using a real keyboard (I’m a programmer/pad banger, never really record with a piano-style keyboard).
