Created for a project I had in video production class. The track began to materialise as Tom and I were synthesizing bass drops to test his car sound system with, and I worked one into a remix I did of a track I had previously done for film class. It ended up being an exercise in taking it one-step further…pretty nuts amen breaks, real glitch samples, insane chirps, I just wanted to suck up and repurpose cliches into something a bit harsh.
it’s all buzz.

All props to Mando on this one.
When I got to SWT, I had a very novel experience. One day, hanging out in my dorm room, I started hearing drum n bass. Now, you youngins might take that for granted, but being one of maybe 3 people total from Bryan, TX who was even remotely interested in electronic music at the time (ps. I was totally engulfed), this was a pretty shocking experience.
I immediately looked past any social niceties / hangups and followed the sound to find this tall dude in a backwards cap just playing video games jammin some AK1200 or something. Friendship ensued immediately. Come to find out, we had a lot of similar tastes – notably for this post, screw.
One afternoon we were hanging out in my room and got the idea that we needed to chop and screw Mr. Marley’s classic. Bustin’ out the soundforge and my previous experience working as resident chopper for Bryan act Versatile, we started cutting and pasting (this is when i could not afford no damn turntables, much less even find two copies of this track on wax). Mando really helped me take my head out of my routine and get into the groove of listening…something only the real musicians amongst so many biters can appreciate, and put into practice. What I brought to the table was the technical know-how, and our two strengths combined led to some pretty awesome experimental sections where we really took this track into the psychedelic territory we both felt it belonged in.
Finally, homedude busts out these killer pipes for a nice little breakdown at the end.
Mad respect to you, Mando. Though we’ve long since lost touch, here’s hoping you find this.
