Part 2

We were fortunate enough to catch this instance of Groovesday as the day turned into night, the night into morning, and rolled over into All Hallow’s Eve. So we try to keep it dark and themed for all you trick or treaters out there.
Dig the absolutely uncanny appearance of the cat early on – totally unplanned, incredibly cosmic.
This weeks show includes hits from, but not limited to:
Danny Tenaglia
K.C. and the Sunshine Band
Deftones
Shackleton
Thomas Bangalter
etc, etc…

It’s not too early in the week to party, right?
This one grew out of proposition to ‘dj’, indirectly, again, a Halloween party happening in Waco. I prepared the mix beforehand, then Jared and I headed to Waco to meet my sister at Georges, head to a party near campus, get kicked off the doorsteps of the girls dorm, then finally head down to Houston I believe for an a capella band concert?! Hell of a time.
This one is very college-coed friendly with the hits and some 80s and some Hip Hop and some Noggin remixes / edits to spice it up.
This track includes hits from, but not limited to:
Genesis
Eminem
New Order
Miss Kittin and the Hacker
INXS

As Yet Unknown

Noggin – Round Up (Dosie Do mix)

Artist: Noggin
Title: Round Up (Dosie-Do mix)
Album: As Yet Unknown
Date: 2000
Part 1

This track was originally released 11 years ago today.
ScottyP and myself had been wanting to do a collaboration, and I got this about halfway there when I sent it to him for his side of the story. I can’t remember what his exact reaction was, but it was like, ‘I’m not touching that with a ten foot pole’. Let’s just say I took this one to the edge and then tossed the corpse over with a string tied to it and my own ankle.
If you like your house dark, slamming, and garage style, you’ll dig this.
And do stick around for the breakdown courtesy of some Carolina folk down on Cripple Creek.

In 2002, the bootleg / mashup craze was in full effect.
This is my contribution.
Originally created for a mix I was making for a Halloween / 80s party, this eventually got pretty much redone completely as I wanted to impart a bit of the glitch aesthetic into it, not to mention the fact that I think straight layered mashups are boring…got to have a little style in there or whats the point?
As such, this is very DJ friendly. Not what I’d call a floor-filler, but drop it once the floor is filled and things will start to get a little crazy.
Bonus points to the person who comments about the secret track hidden the middle of this one.
