The ‘Unified’ single stems from a deep desire to emulate a trippy video I saw late night on music tv that I would never see again. I think the original was more Goa than this, but as I’ve got more house in my heart, here it stands as it is now.
Ya know what? Damn, I’m listening to this now for the first time in years, and I’m jammin.
I was experimenting with long, evolving tweaks which puts this one in a nether-realm of acid territory.
Enjoy your saturday track, party kids.
Vocal samples from the film “Colossus: The Forbin Project” (great flick up that Planet of the Apes alley, which by the way the new one is great).

Comes from the honeymoon right when I got Reason for the first time and had an actual, classic synthesizer to work with. However, that honeymoon didn’t last…sure the hardware emulation was novel for a while, but the clunkiness of the patching vs how easy it was to go totally crazy with Buzz, it didn’t take too long for me to get completely over reason. Great software, just not for me.
This was also when Rik had started getting me interested in psy-trance, and I really started to love the hyper-electronic cutting sounds prevalent in the genre.
Out comes this little gem of some sample-and-hold synth filter tweakage.

Another high mark in my mind comes from this somewhat psychedelic trance excursion with Rikard. It’s all Buzz again, but Rik had really been kicking it up a notch lately with how clean and professional his buzz tracks were sounding. I remember this one going back and forth quite a few times in quite a short amount of time.

This one is dedicated to author of the software which created it – Arguelles. Amazingly talented programmer who left an incredible output of work in his too-short life.
Saiko was a small (~300k) windows program that had a couple of synthesizers, some samplers, some filters, etc, and somewhat algorithmically generated psy-trance. The great part though, is aside from the basic seeds, you still have a lot of control over the output – and loading your own samples is really easy.
Jon was over and this is where we went when I was showing him this awesome non-buzz software from one of our favorite buzz developers.

This was a pretty fair-share Buzz / Reason hybrid. Most sounds generated in Reason then sequenced within the Buzz tracker environment. A lot of granular synthesis going on at the lower levels here. Hope you enjoy your glitchy sunday track.
