Title: Charlie’s Song (Cha Cha!) Artist: Noggin Album: As Yet Unknown Date: 2001
A C I D
Happy Birthday Charlie. I wrote this song for Charlie cause he was like a huge reason I got into this music in the first place. He needed a theme song and we were both brought up on high-energy and psuedo acid/rave sounds out of Europe. As such, this is the most dj-friendly tune I’ve ever done, I think. The casual listener might be a little put-off by the twelve-inch-ness of it, buildups and whatnot, but to my dear fellow DJs, please take this one and run with it.
All Buzz.

Here’s some random late 90′s ravin.
Title: Dull Artist: Noggin Album: As Yet Unknown Date: 2001
I remember this one birthed itself rather quickly, and I was extremely pleased with the quality of sounds coming out of our favorite tracker. I called it unfinished for so long, cause it just felt so cool I didn’t want it to end, but maybe the extended version I’ll leave up to you, dear remixer.
It’s going back to the industrial roots a little bit, but god forbid there is a bit of backwards acoustic guitar which I think keeps it firmly planted outside the realm of industrial. Download: 14 Dull (unfinished) (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Title: Octobot Artist: Noggin Album: Divergent AI (demo) Date: 2003
Believe it or not I think I’ve gotten more compliments on this one than any other single project.
I also can’t even begin to tell you where it came from. Just kind of opened my eyes one day and here is this almost finished track. That’s not entirely true, but what I do know is that I worked on this one intensely in marathon sessions…I’m talking realising you need to turn the lights on/off and yer not sure where the world is type of marathons. I definitely put a lot of extra work in to this one, pulling stuff off of synths, re-pitching, looping, lots of cutting, lots of tracker mod commands. It all blends bombastically into this, the opening track of the Divergent AI EP.
Buzz and AN1X for sure. Download: Noggin – Octobot (right click and choose ‘save as’)
Title: Dopplerbeats (Knoggin’s Knife) Artist: Ilya vs. Noggin Album: As Yet Unknown Date: 2002
Remix of my boy Ilya’s sound-design experiment “Doppler Beats”, which maybe I can encourage him to explain in detail in the comments?
He sent me this pretty awesome recording of some sounds, and I thought, these should be turned into a jam. I was also experimenting a lot with the ‘hardware’ sampler in Reason, so I used it as an excuse to get down and dirty like I hadna before. As such, buzz is pretty absent from this recording. Title: Disassembly Artist: Noggin Album: Divergent AI Date: 2003
One of my favorite tracks to have under my belt, here’s track 2 off the divergent ai ep. Keepin it simple with that mda epiano (love this one) rubbing the heels of some distraught and noisy 808. works well with headphones (all this buzz stuff does…imagine that).
